ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The Cooperative's 72nd Annual Membership Meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 25th, 2011, at the Montpelier Elks. Please note a change in the agenda this year - the business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Our speaker, Commissioner Elizabeth Miller, will be talking about "Energy for Vermonters: Weighing Our Choices and Making a Plan" at 7:00 p.m. followed by the continuation of our business meeting.

Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. and a vegetarian lasagna or ham/turkey dinner featuring Vermont products will be served at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is by reservation only - no reservation is needed for the business meeting.

Childcare will be available with preregistration only.

Cooperatives are locally owned and controlled by their members. WEC's one member household -one vote system opens up exciting opportunities for members to participate in the decision-making process of the Co-op. They do that by participating in and attending the Co-op's Annual Membership Meeting, which is held in May. The Annual Meeting is where members have the opportunity to vote for candidates for director and proposed bylaw amendments, and to give direct input to the Board of Directors, General Manager and staff. Members who choose not to attend the Annual Meeting in person may participate in the election process by mailed ballot.
